  • Global Publishers and General Enterprises Limited is a registered private company dealing in publishing of weekly Swahili newspapers in Tanzania, namely; Uwazi, Ijumaa, Championi, Amani, Risasi & Ijumaa Wikienda.
  • The Company was established in 1998 under the Tanzania Company’s ordinance with its head office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – East Africa.
  • It has over 20 regional agents in Tanzania, who distribute and sale our newspapers throughout the country.

NEWPAPER’S PROFILE
  As indicated here above, Global Publishers LTD has SIX publications coming out everyday on different tittles, Monday to Saturday. On Monday there are two newspapers, namley Ijumaa Wikienda and Championi Jumatatu.   On Tuesday there is Uwazi, Wednesday there is Risasi Mchanganyiko and Championi Jumatano, Amani coming out on Thursdays, on Friday there is Ijumaa and Championi Ijumaa and on Saturday there is Risasi Jumamosi and Championi Jumamosi. We don’t have a paper on Sunday only.    
1. IJUMAA:
  This paper is distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. It is a full color 16-page tabloid. It is social, political and entertainment newspaper, mostly read by men and women of all social classes, students and the young generation. Currently it has a circulation order of over 50,000 copies and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 40,000 copies are sold in the country every Friday. It is estimated that, 5 persons share one newspaper purchased and that makes a total of 200,000 people read the paper countrywide. With that figure, the Ijumaa becomes the right media for advertisers as they are guaranteed to reach as many people as possible across the country. The Synovate Report 2012 shows this paper as the most read weekly in Tanzania.  
2. IJUMAA WIKIENDA:
  This paper is also distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. It is a 16-page tabloid with 8 color and 8 black & white pages. It is social, political and entertainment newspaper, mostly read by men and women of all social classes, students and the young generation. Currently it has a circulation order of over 50, 000 copies and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 40,000 copies are sold in the country every Monday. With estimation of 5 persons share one newspaper purchased, it makes a total of 200,000 people read the paper countrywide. With that figure, Ijumaa Wikienda also becomes the right media for advertisers as they are guaranteed to reach as many people as possible.

3. UWAZI:

  This is the most famous newspaper in the country and the oldest in the company, it is also distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. It is a 16-page tabloid with 8 color and 8 black & white pages. It is a serious newspaper with social, political and investigative stories. Politicians, men and women of all social classes, students and the young generation mostly read it every week. Currently it has a circulation order of over 35, 000 copies and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 30,000 copies are sold in the country every Tuesday.   It is estimated that, 5 persons share one newspaper purchased and that makes a total of 150,000 people read the paper countrywide. With that figure, Uwazi becomes the right media for advertisers as it is guaranteed to reach as many people as possible.    

4. RISASI:

  This paper is also distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. It is a 16-page tabloid with 8 color and 8 black & white pages, coming out twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday. It is social, political and entertainment newspaper, mostly read by men and women of all social classes, students and the young generation. Currently it has a total circulation order of over 80, 000 copies (Wed & Sat) and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 70,000 copies are sold in the country on Wednesday and Saturday.   It is estimated that, 5 persons share one newspaper purchased and that makes a total of 350,000 people read the paper countrywide every week. With that figure, Risasi also becomes the right media for advertisers as they are guaranteed to reach as many people as possible.  

5. AMANI:

This paper is also distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. It is a 16-page tabloid with 8 color and 8 black & white pages. It is social, political and entertainment newspaper, mostly read by men and women of all social classes, students and the young generation. Currently it has a circulation order of over 35, 000 copies and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 30,000 copies are sold in the country every Thursday.   It is estimated that, 5 persons share one newspaper purchased and that makes a total of 150,000 people read the paper countrywide. With that figure, Amani also becomes the right media for advertisers as they are guaranteed to reach as many people as possible  

6. CHAMPIONI:

This paper is also distributed in the whole of Tanzania regions and on the Islands. Coming out four times a week; Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. All are 24 page tabloids, with 8 color and 16 black & white pages. It is a serious sports and entertainment newspaper, mostly read by all sports readers, fans of all social classes, students and the young generation in general. Currently it has a total circulation order of over 200, 000 copies per week and a return rate of below 10%. This means that over 180,000 copies are sold in the country every week.   With estimation of 5 persons share one newspaper purchased, it makes a total of 900,000 people read the paper countrywide weekly. With that figure, Championi becomes the most read sports newspaper in the country and the right media for sport advertisers.   TOTAL COUNTRY READERSHIP In a week, Global Publishers circulate more than 400,000 copies in the country with an avarge of 1.5 milion readers. With this readership, advertisers are 100 % sure to reach all targeted groups.   DITRUBUTION  NETWORK We distribute our newspapers throughout Tanzania Mainland and in the Islands through our network scatterd all over Tanzania.  Upcountry supply normally takes 50% of Dar es salaam’s supply.

The offices of Global Publishers and General Enterprises LTD are located near the junction of Ali Hassan Mwinyi/Shekilango Roads, behind TSN Petrol Station, Mwenge, Dar es Salaam .

The company is run by professionals with many years of experience in journalism, advertising and concept development.

Our company does not compromise on quality when it comes to printing. It always tries to design and print its newspapers to a world class standards. Right now it is printing with printers who use CTP technology and insure maximum good quality
