The National Ranching Company Limited (NARCO) is a parastatal organization | under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries responsible for large scale commercial j ranching in the country. The Headquarters of the Company has been relocated from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma and the transfer was concluded at the end of February. 2019. NARCO, the producers of the world-class KONGWA BEEF, has extensive investments in S regions of mainland Tanzania. The Company is currently undergoing rapid transformation intended to create an efficient and vibrant commercial entity that will contribute very positively to the commercial development of the country’s livestock industry. The Company is seeking to recruit dedicated and competent staff in the following junior positions.

 

FIELD OFFICER GRADE I – (3 Posts)
Duty Station – NARCO Ranches and Headquarters
Reports to – Ranch Manager / Production and Operations Manager.A

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate mil be required to perform the following duties:

Carnes out ranch management duties in a Ranch e.g. ranch administration, veterinary or range duties in a sectron with at most 2.000 animals.
To perform any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV/Form VI Certificate plus a degree in Veterinary Science, or Ranch Management or Animal Husbandry or Range Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized mstitution with more than 1 year of working experience. Must base excellent communication and inter-personal skills and should be computer literate.

FIELD OFFICER GRADE III – (7 Posts)
Duty Station – NARCO Ranches and Headquarters

SUPPLIES/PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE I (1 post)
Duty Station – Dodoma
Reports to – Head of Procurement Management Unit / Ranch Manager

 

DUTIES .AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate mil be required to perform the following duties:
Performs the activities of the Procurement and Supplies and reports to the Head of Procurement Unit.
Assist the Head of PML’ in liaising with Ranch Managers in an effort to coordinate the activities relating to supplies.
Deals with purchases of capital items.
Performs the activities relating to Local and International Tenders.
Assist the Head of PMU in administering and interpreting Company’s purchasing policy of competitive prices.

Performs assessments of procurement dynamics of markets from time to time and provides advice to the Company through the Head of PMU.

Ensures the efficiency of Stock Control and Slock levels are maintained.
Liaises with all transport organization and agencies and with other Parastatals. Government Ministries and Major Supplies on matters relating to purchases, supply and transportation including advocating the necessary actions in case of undue delay which would endanger the work of the Company and or its projects.

Checks on the requirements of all the projects, ensures queries are answered without delay and supply of materials meets the demand in time to avoid unnecessary stoppage of work in any project.
Makes all shipping arrangements inducting clearing and forwarding for all goods.
Makes adequate arrangements for import licences and permits, liaises with Exchange Control Authorities on matters relating to importation of goods.
To perform any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV/Form VI Certificate plus a recognized degree in Materials Management or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution with more than 1 year of working experience. Must have excellent communication and inter-personal stills and should be computer literate.

SUPPLIES/PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE II (2 Posts)
Duty Station – Dodoma or in Ranches
Reports to – Head of PMU/ Ranch Manager

DUTIES .AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:
Responsible for physical stocks under guidance and supervision of a Senior Officer.

Conducts physical checks and accounts receipted goods.
Arranges for physical placement
Maintains and checks Tally Bin Cards
Extracts stocks for issues
Arranges packing and deliveries
May be called upon to take charge of small local warehouse/store house
Keeps records of all arms and ammunition of the Company
Looks for permits to purchase arms and to pay for their license
Deals with import license and custom forms
Keeps safe custody of all records of Company’s transport fleet
Responsible for stores sub-imprest, purchases materials when so directed.
To perform any other official duties as may be assigned from lime to time by one’s reporting officer.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate plus a recognize Diploma in Supplies.’ Procurement or Materials Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with more than 1 year of working experience. ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER GRADE I (4 Posts)

Reports to – HRM / Ranch Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:
Taking Stock of properties and assets of the Company.
Control allocation of vehicles
Supervise Drivers
Maintenance of Staff quarters and buildings
Supervise cleaners and messengers
Will arrange for hotel reservations and travel arrangements for officers going on leave or duty.
May undertake minor duties of accounting nature.
Serving as the Company’s Public Relations Officer.
Maintaining an adequate and efficient administrative and office services (housing, furniture & fittings, office space, office equipment and stationery).
Being in charge of transportation of vehicles.
Being in charge of safety and security.

Making follow up of all land acquisition documentation and disputes.
Liaison with Ix:gal Officer in issuing notices for Board Meetings

Liaison with Legal Officer in writing minutes of the Board proceedings and follows up implementation of Board resolutions.
Liaison with Legal Officer and Heads of Departments in preparation of files for Board meetings.
Makes arrangements for transport and accommodation during board meetings in liaison with HRM
Advises the HRM on all administrative aspects of the Company.
Liaison with Legal Officer on the follow up of all court cases with the Court or TLC.
Liaison with Ixgal Officer in registration of all Company documents according to law.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate plus a recognized degree Business Administration. Sociology. Public Administration. Management or equivalent qualifications with more than 1 year of relevant work experience from a reputable organization. ACCOUNTANT GRADE II – (1 Post)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collecting mails, stationery, and other documents as directed.
Maintains mam ledgers
Preparation of Final Accounts
On the job training for accounts staff
Preparation of staff salaries and remunerations
Authorized payment
Deals with matters relating to foreign exchange control, all bank documents and taxation.
An Accountant may be assigned to guide the budget committee in preparation of budget programme.
Prepares budget in Consultation with Planning Section and interprets their financial implications.
Ensures financial budget control.
To advise ranch managers on all financial matters.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate plus a recognize Advanced Diploma or University degree m Business Administration with accountancy bias or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution with more than I year of working experience. Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and should be computer literate.

SUPPLIES/PROCUREMENT OFFICER GRADE I (1 post)
Duty Station – In Ranches
Reports to – Head of PMU / Ranch Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to perform the following duties:
Responsible for purchasing materials
Looks for Company requirements from various suppliers
Collects purchased materials from suppliers, and any other clerical duties.
Makes arrangements for transportation of required materials for the ranches and centers.
Prepares documents for such transportation
Keeps records of materials being transported from stores
At the Ranches (s)he receives, stores, and issues matenals
Keeps proper records of such transactions under supervision

Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate plus a recognize Certificate in Supplies,’Procurement or Matenals Management or its equivalent from a recognized Institution with more than 1 year of working experience. DRIVER GRADE III – (5 Posts)

DUTIES .AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives passenger busses, pick-up. and Lorries all of less than 7 ton and also drives tractors.
Maintains and keeps up-to-date log sheetbook.
Keeps the motor vehicle in good and clean condition.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate and possess a Class “C” Valid Driving License. Ability to interpret various instruments employed in vehicles or has completed a three months driving course from a recognized institution or Trade Tbst Id (Driver) with working experience of more than 1 year.

NURSING ASSISTANT – (2 Posts)

General Nursing care of patients
Care of maternity
Administration of medicine and treatment of patients as prescribed by medical Doctors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate mil be required to perform the following duties:
Responsible for all livestock statistics, preparation of monthly marketing reports.
Canvass for markets for livestock and livestock products.
Makes transport arrangements for livestock sales deliveries to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IYTForm VI Certificate plus a Degree in Marketing or equivalent or Commerce. Business Administration or Bsc. Food Science and Technology or equivalent or Economics with bias in Marketing or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution with more than 1 year of working experience. Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and should be computer literate. Knowledge in food handling processes including meat and milk is an added advantage.

GENERAL ASSISTANT GRADE I – (2 Posts)

DUTIES .AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collecting mails, stationery, and other documents as directed.
Internal circulation of letters, documents, files, etc.
External circulation of mails by dispatch.
Cleaning, tiding offices, preparing lea etc.
Duplicating w-ork and any other general work of assistance nature.
To perform any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time by one’s reporting officer.

QUALIFICATIONS
Holder of a Form IV / Form VI Certificate with more than 1 year of relevant work experience from a reputable organization. Must have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and should be computer literate.

SALARY
An attractive Salary in the Scale NGSS 6 and fringe benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate depending on entry qualifications and experience.
