Nafasi Ya Kazi: Senior Network and Infrastructure Administrator

Responsibilities

i. Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)

ii. Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices

iii. Monitor network performance and integrity

iv. Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure

v. Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness

vi. Mentor team members on technical issues

vii. Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)

viii. Communicate with users when needed

ix. Maintain complete technical documentation

x. Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

i. 5 years and above Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator or Infrastructure administrator.

ii. Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)

iii. Solid background in network administration and architecture

iv. In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)

v. Experience designing wired and wireless networks including WAN, VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN

vi. Familiarity with access control models and network security

vii. Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g. Python, Perl)

viii. Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Solar Winds network tools)

ix. Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)

x. Experience supporting Ubuntu Linux, MacOS, and Windows desktop environments

xi. A proven track record supporting Virtual Private Cloud infrastructures

xii. Sharp troubleshooting skills

xiii. Ability to work independently

xiv. Organizational and mentoring skills

xv. BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

Specialization in one or more of the following is required:

· Work on Orbit CBS

· Possess Oracle DB knowledge

· Storage management of high performance disk arrays and storage area networks

· Security management managing firewalls and security infrastructure (Fortugate preferable)

· Identity management (Active Directory) Virtualization management (VMWare preferred)

· IT project and resource management or management of a small IT team
